Love between a man and a woman is a wonderful and simple concept, but not always an easy journey. Something to understand is that love and romance go hand in hand and work together. The general thought process is that the man romances the woman but in reality men love to be romanced also. They love for their wife to pay attention to them and to take care of them also.
Romance is used to show that there is love in your relationship. You show your love  through appreciation and that you are always thinking about him and your love for him. Love and romance is about selfless giving one to the other just for the pure joy of making your marriage and journey through life a happy union.
Few expect love to be perfect. Some people come close to perfect love, but really that perfection is almost impossible to achieve. Sometimes it takes going through some imperfections to find and renew love. There will be some imperfections in your attempts at romance also. But, if you keep at it the good times will prevail. Just remember that romance is your expression of love. If your husband is not paying attention and misses your attempt, don't give up. He is still there and love will prevail.
When you have to be apart for a while for some reason and he says he misses you then you know that some of your romancing has been getting through, even if you didn't think so at the time.
Emotional needs of men is far closer to the emotional needs of women than society leads one to believe. The noticeable difference men and women in a relationship is when it comes to sex. Love and romance deal with the emotions. Emotions are what binds a relationship for a lifetime.
There is an art form to romance that should be expressed as creatively as possible. Your approach to romance can be outrageous or simple. Sometimes simplicity is the easiest and best. However, it really depends on your guy. When you enter into a relationship you need to make sure you have a creative nature, an open mind and possibly access to some excellent resources that allow you to learn from other people. That might be your mom, grandmother, a friend or even a relationship course or book
Your goal is to create a loving, romantic atmosphere that makes your man really miss you when you are not around for some reason.
It does take both people working together to bring love and joy into a relationship. Don't just sit back and wait for the other party to start the action. Set aside any competitive nature and truly enjoy what you are able to give as well as what you are able to receive. Always be thinking about what little things you can do to make him think fondly of you as he goes about his day.
I remember hearing about a man who simply stopped on the way home and picked up two ice cream cones for he and his wife. When he got home they simply took time to just sit down and enjoy their ice cream together after a long and stressful day for the both of them.
Maybe you take time to fix his favorite dinner and don't plan anything else for him to do except enjoy dinner with you when you know he has had a particularly hard day at work.
 Don't forget that romance is your expression of love and should be something that you never feel forced to do. Love for another should be given freely and accepted freely without conditions. Love is not done for show. Nor, should one expect a one for one return for their expression of love.
Just keep your true love for your husband in mind when romancing and a solid bond will form that will bring love in return from him.
If he misses you when you are away for a while you have succeeded in your romancing.
